Join us for a Community Dance Class! As part of a 2017 SU CASA artist residency, Diana Crum is teaching older adults three times a week at Krakus Senior Center. On May 12, the class will be open to neighbors, family, and friends. The class will bring together an inter-generational group of community members in the social ritual of dance class.

Diana will be working with seniors at Krakus Senior Center through a SU-CASA Residency. Look out for announcements about public events or get in touch to hear more about it. SU-CASA is a collaboration among the New York City Council, the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the City's five local arts councils including Brooklyn Arts Council. The program is supported by public funds from the New York City Council in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Department for the Aging. Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) is proud to administer this program on behalf of the borough of Brooklyn.

Heart Lab is a hybrid workshop/rehearsal session. Open to all, it will begin with Crum leading a physical warm-up. Participants can follow Crumfs directions or not. Following, she will introduce prompts, based on somatics and imagery, related to the heart, for improvisational exploration. Participants are welcome to move, draw, write, make sound, etc. The series is intended for individuals interested in practicing movement and/or creative research alongside others. All disciplines and experience levels are welcome.

Open Labs is a series of drop-in workshops/laboratories/studio sessions/rehearsals led by Diana Crum. Open to all, sessions will start with opportunities to wake up your physical range and strength. Participants can follow Crumfs directions or not. Following, Crum will introduce prompts, based on somatics and imagery, for improvisational exploration.

Everyone in the room must participate (i.e. collaborate or rebel) in some form. The nature and form of participation can vary. Responses can be movement, drawing, writing, making sound, etc.

The series is intended for individuals interested in practicing movement and/or creative research alongside others. All disciplines and experience levels are welcome.
